Peroni – Beer Cocktails
I love Peroni, so when The House of Peroni invited me to share a couple of their beer-infused cocktail recipes, I said yes without hesitation.
The House of Peroni presents a cocktail infusion menu celebrating Italian life and flavours. Below are two cocktails from the infusion menu served at The House of Peroni’s Brick Lane pop-up in November. Both were created by award-winning mixologist Simone Caporale, bartender at The Artesian Bar at The Langham.
Peroni – Beer Cocktails
Madre Branch Cocktail
Inspired by the pristine whites that La Madre celebrates, this cocktail balances floral blossom and woodland notes, evoking the scent of clean linen drying in a warm breeze. Peroni Nastro Azzurro adds a crisp, refreshing finish.
Ingredients:
40 ml Peroni Nastro Azzurro
15 ml bergamot & yuzu juice
40 ml vodka
4 fresh coriander leaves
15 ml cypress tree syrup
Garnish: Fresh coriander leaf. Optionally add a few drops of chilli extract for a spicy kick.
Ice: Regular ice cubes or a single large cube.
Instructions: Mix all ingredients except the coriander leaves in a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously, then add Peroni Nastro Azzurro and stir gently. Strain into a glass and garnish with a coriander leaf.
Capotavola (Head of the Table)
This drink offers a hops-forward twist on the classic Old Fashioned, featuring smooth, rounded flavours suited to the traditional Italian “head of the table.” Best enjoyed slowly at the end of the evening.
Ingredients:
40 ml Peroni Nastro Azzurro
50 ml bourbon
5 ml sugar syrup
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Garnish: Glazed cherry.
Ice: Single large ice cube.
Instructions: Stir bourbon, sugar syrup and Angostura bitters with ice in a mixing glass or shaker. Strain over a single ice cube, top with cold Peroni Nastro Azzurro and garnish with a glazed cherry.
